Sony Interactive Entertainment and The Black Collegiate Gaming Association (BCGA) believes that an investment in the education of our college students is an investment in their future. Our #1 goal is to graduate students that are prepared to gain corporate or creative roles within the gaming, esports and technology industries. We are dedicated to providing scholarships to deserving upperclassmen students to ensure graduation and increase retention rates. We are excited to announce our scholarship program and its requirements.

BCGA Success Fall 2021 Scholarship Supported By PlayStation Career Pathways Program Applicants Must Meet the Following Requirements to Apply for a Financial Award:

  • Attend a BCGA charter member institution
  • Registered for & Attended Black College Con and/or Women Got Game
  • OR
  • Be an African American/Black or Woman of color college student
  • Be currently enrolled as a full-time college student (12+ semester hours)
  • Have at least a 2.8 cumulative GPA
  • Be an upper-classman student (junior or senior with 30 hours or less remaining to graduate)
  • Be pursuing a degree related to the new STEM majors (Software Engineering, Game Development, CIS, Graphic Design, Music, Animation, etc.) and Business majors (Marketing, Accounting, Finance etc.)
  • Complete a short essay in 150 or less words EXPRESSING FINANCIAL NEED & how this scholarship will assist you in becoming a Success & contributor to the gaming, esports and technology industry

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Students who were awarded a Success Scholarship in the Summer of 2021 are ineligible to receive a scholarship this Fall.
  • Deadline to submit application is Dec. 1st at 11:59pm EST.
  • Scholarship Winners Will Be Announced Wednesday, December 15th ,2021.
